Strengthening Native Economies Through Unity and Purpose

The Mountain | Plains Regional Native CDFI Coalition is a partnership of Native-led community loan funds spanning South Dakota, Montana, and Wyoming. Together, we work to advance financial sovereignty, strengthen Indigenous economies, and build lasting systems of equity for Native communities across the region.

Our coalition brings together Native Community Development Financial Institutions (NCDFIs) that share a common mission: to increase access to capital, empower entrepreneurs, and create opportunities that align with Indigenous values and vision.

Our Mission

The mission of MPCDC is to support and foster the work of the Coalition to strengthen the economic health of Native communities in the Mountain Plains region of Wyoming, Montana, South Dakota, and North Dakota.

Our Focus

Unlike traditionally managed professional service providers, the Mountain Plains Community Development Corporation (MPCDC) was created to focus on building capacity and expanding resources designed and targeted for The Mountain|Plains Regional Native CDFI Coalition.

Our Work in Action

Coalition members collaborate to:

  • Expand access to affordable lending and business support.

  • Advocate for fair and inclusive federal and regional financial policies.

  • Share resources, data, and training that build capacity across Native CDFIs.

  • Celebrate and uplift the success stories of Native-led businesses and community development projects.

Through shared strategy and a unified voice, the coalition strengthens the Native finance ecosystem — ensuring that capital serves people, not the other way around.
